Hello lovely DFWers. Welcome to the weekend :j :j
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:
Today I will:
- Do a day's teaching - earning money not spending it!
- have a NSD other than children's pocket money
- yesterday I put petrol in the car after checking price on petrolprices.com
- not increase my debt in any way
- be positive
Have a good day everyone xx

Hi hypno, hi all. Today I will be:
- walking to and from my train station as I'm seeing a friend in another town.
- keeping my spending diary up to date (not only does it show what I've spent, when I think, "oh, I have to write *that* in my spending diary?" it really makes me think twice about spending anything.
- not increasing my debt in any way, hurray.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Decided to fill up a small chest freezer I was given during the week (friend is moving & hasn't got the room for it, so I got it for nothing
) Today I've made the following:
2 batches of onion bhajis - I've done the flat ones rather than balls, as they take up less space.
2 batches of meat loaf, to use up some mince & lamb that was taking up far too much space.
A fish pie.
3 large macaroni cheeses & 1 cauliflower cheese.
A corned beef hash.
And a beef stew.
I can't eat any of it yet because of surgery I've had, but my kitchen smells heavenly & I feel like I've been at a 5-star restaurant.
I've just got some potato & cheese croquettes to do & some apple & cinnamon bagels, & then I'll be done for the day.
