Value/Basic 2% lager/Bitter

Have tescos, sainsburys and asda all withdrawn this? We normally buy some as our friday night treat and noticed that all 3 have withdrawn their own brand lager/bitters.. Whats happening? :-(

I noticed this too. I wonder if it is something to do with the minimum pricing regulations they were trying to bring in?
It is quite annoying because apart from the price the next one up has a much higher alcohol content.

They might use the same manufacturer who has stopped the line for a variety of reasons.

Once of the supermarket has stopped it the other can follow suit as price of products not out of kilter with each other.

Or it could be, really poor sales.

A supply issue I was told by Asda's customer service line as my great uncle drinks the stuff. I think the others are made by the same folks.

I had a sip and it was rancid.

Hi, my husband loves the value lager so when we couldn't find it anywhere I emailed Tesco. Apparently they are changing supplier and hope to have it back on the shelves soon?!? HTH :)

One supplier who supplies some supermarkets with own brand lager has gone bust (only know this as i work at one of the supermarkets and thats why we are not getting one of our products in) could be this is why.

The value lager is blooming awful. Your better of with the Biere D'or in Tesco or Equivalents in other stores. Around £3.50 for 10 250ml bottles.
    PK! :money:

The best VFM now seems to be ...

    ASDA. French lager. 2.6%. 10 x 25cl. £3.25. £1.30/L.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

Only place that currently has the 2% value range is Morrisons.
