Mortgage and credit file

I am not sure if the folloing will be an issue with a mortgage application. I am just waiting for my credit file to be updated with an alias - my maiden name after getting married last year. A the moment only accounts in my married name appear.
We are about to apply for a mortgage and as far as I am aware have a completely blemish free record apart from one potential issue. Wonder if anyone can advise?
A couple of years ago I had one late payment on a virgin credit card after I did a balance transfer. It was late because I assumed a direct debit I had previously set up was still active. It wasn't but when I complained when I got the statement, I immediately paid it, they refunded the late payment charge and reinstated the 0% rate they had removed because I had defaulted, as they said it was fair for me to assume the direct debit was still active.
My query is if this is likely to show as a default on my report and therefore affect a decision? The credit card has since been cleared and closed. No other debts and a 25k deposit.
Can anyone advise?

Off memory you have a 15% deposit, the 1 missed/late payment wont be a problem, especially as its from quite a while back.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
