Good quality sofa & armchair

Hi, I am looking to spend about £1500 on a good quality sofa & armchair with footstool.
Found a couple I like at Next, but was not too sure on the quality of the pieces. They seem to get mixed reviews, some people happy, some very dissapointed.

These are what I picked out....

* Had to remove my links as I am new *
But it was the Ledbury Large Sofa & Sherlock Snuggle Chair

It is a lot of money to spend, so I was wondering where in the UK sold really good quality furniture?

Main things we are looking for is somewhere that we can try the sofa before we buy it, good long lasting quality.

Thanks

I don't think your budget is going to get you anything that really could be described as good quality unfortunately.

Perhaps try some of the furniture manufacturer outlets such as Multiyork, where you might just be lucky enough to pick up some great quality items at a good price. Solidly made furniture, built to last.

I'm not sure if M&S have a furniture outlet or what the quality is like, but sure somebody else here will know & advise, or if you are set on Next, if they too have a furniture outlet somewhere you could visit.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Thanks for your reply, we actually checked out M&S Home today and saw some things we liked.

From my research online, it seems more people are happy about the M&S furniture than the Next.

Out of interest, where would you recommend going on a larger budget to get sofas, chairs that will last?
I would stretch my budget for the right things if I know they will be of a great quality that I can keep them for double as long.

Going to read in to Multiyork now. I am based in south east London (SE22)

It's worth having a trawl on ebay. Some friends picked up two multiyork 2 seaters that were 6m old for £100.

I bought my M&S leather sofa from here and it was fab. They also have a shop you can visit and try out. They get their stock from major outlets eg John lewis etc.
