NHS Pension CETV Calculation

I have requested my NHS pension CETV for divorce purposes in early May but I haven't heard back from them yet and my stbx is getting irritated as it is holding up our financial settlement.
I started it on bottom band 5 in Jan 2001 and I'm now mid point band 6 and I have always worked full time.
Can anybody estimate a ballpark figure that my CETV may be? I can't find any calculators on the net to find this info out.
Thanks.

It would be a braver man (or woman) than me to guesstimate it.
Best thing would be to chase them up.0 -
You could use the Civil Service CETV calculator, set for Classic (much the same benefit structure as the NHS scheme).
Would give you a reasonable estimate.0 -
Hi Mania112, I do appreciate what you are saying.
I was hoping somebody who has been through this with similar values might be able to give me a clue.
Thanks Hugheskevi for the link but I can't seem to input anything on your link but I am using an Ipad. i will try again when I've got access to a pc0 -

I stand to be corrected by a Pensions specialist but my understanding is that you have a statutory right to the CETV. But you have not given them much time to respond so far if you only asked a few weeks ago.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
Hi BobQ,
I have applied for the CETV but I sent the forms to my finance dept on 5th April. They then sat on them for weeks before sending them to the Pensions dept which is why stbx is getting all the more irritated as it is nearly 2 months now.0 -

Divorce quotes have much stricter timescales than 'normal' CETVs.
OP, did you specify it was for divorce purposes ?
If not, go back & make sure they know.
NB - the pension dept can only start the process when they get the request, blame your 'finance dept' for the delay. It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.

Why did he think "systolic" ?0 -
Hi RichardJ,
Yes, the form that I completed was for those requesting a CETV for divorce purposes so they know. I will ring them tomorrow to see if I can speed it up but they aren't known for being helpful.
I do blame my finance dept. They only completed their form after I'd had a polite but very firm chat with them0 -
Just looked up our deadlines in the office (private sector, not public) & while they are stricter than normal TVs, not by quite as much as I had remembered. We have up to a 6 week turnaround time for divorce TVs as opposed to 3 months for normal.
I can't remember offhand if that is legislative or just this company's internal control. It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.

I have just rung the pensions dept. They can't speed the process up without me paying a charge which I can't afford. They said it will take 6-8 weeks and they don' take into account the amount of time it was sat on my finance officer's desk unfortunately.
I guess I will just have to be patient
Thanks for all of the replies.0
