That's a good point. I went BR on 29 March, & Council Tax runs for 12 months to the end of March if you pay by direct debit or 10 months if you don't. I also don't receive any benefits. So me saying that I owed nothing virtually at the end of the tax year made it very clear that my Council Tax was up to date for that tax year. Had I gone BR say in the middle of the Council Tax year, it would have been less easy to see what was covered by BR & what wasn't, as payments would still have been due for the remainder of the year, so they'd have had to contact the council to confirm the amounts.Maybe this was so that in case of arrears or overpayments of any council tax benefit for the period covered up to bankruptcy further along the line, then it would be clear what was pre and post bankruptcy.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."
