I need various items of furniture and would like to get it all quickly, not having to wait several days/weeks for delivery.
I have 3 ikeas all about an hour away, where I can see the items and take them home immediately.
Is there anywhere else like there I could go and get furniture quickly without waiting?

Personally I have never bought anything from Ikea that has let me down. Lots of people seem to complain about them but I find their furniture to be good quality and dead easy to build so I'd go for Ikea every timeI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Their furniture are easy to build and at reasonable price.
But I suggest you have a look on their website to find which one you want first. It is easily get lost when you try to figure out what you want in the shop.
And some online retailer on ebay/ amazon do next day/ 48hrs delivery.0 -
We have bought beds, fitted wardrobes, stand-alone wardrobes and chairs from Ikea and nearly all* have been of good quality and relatively easy to assemble (recently built a bedroom set from Argos and it was hell in comparison!). You can also check whether items are in stock in a particular branch via their website.
*The exception being the black Hemnes range which arrived with damaged parts 3 times. It seems to be made of extremely soft wood and dings and scratches easily."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -
I searched every where to find nice floor to ceiling wardrobes and decided on Ikea. I had them delivered. (never been to Ikea.....now I want to badly!!) They got put up this week. They look BRILLIANT!! so pleased with them. I weould go there again. Only other place would be somewhere like Argos or Homebase...neither of which I ever had any luck with0

"To Ikea or not to Ikea..... that is the question!"
I recently had a house warming and when the subject of Ikea came up all hell broke loose!
So the verdict was flat packed acrylic wrapped MDF is not a look i should ever wish to aspire too!
I thought it looked ok but seems like my guests say it leading the world to a identity- less existence of character-less living.
Is this True.... are they really just cheap and nasty packaged as something else.... i mean after them taking round the yellow brick road around the whole store you just gotta buy something!....DONT YOU? :rotfl::oTyrone the Great..... The thing is it is not all acrylic wrapped some is real wood veneer. It's good value and readily available I've not been disappointed with the things I have bought. But I do realise I'm not buying top quality furniture.0 -
Thanks for your comment!.... Yeh well i share the same thought!... i was just wondering wether the "my house has been Ikea'd" look is something which sends out a message of cheap and thoughtless!
what do you think!.... price is obviously factor but ive been to houses where they have reclaimed things from scrap or second hand bespoke quiality pieces without everything matching from door to rooftop and the finish something i dont think can be matched from a flat pack factory like Ikea..
what do you think!:D:beer:Tyrone the Great..... Trying to make my way in the world, sharing my experiences as i go:D!!!!0 -
I have always found that furniture bought in a rush is a mistake. Whether cheap n cheerful or expensive. If you NEED it quickly why not try charity shops/ Freegle, then replace at your leisure to your taste and budget.
Nowt wrong with Ikea but you do risk looking like a clone if the whole house is "Ikea'd"0
