Rail: Looked up a ticket price....comes back at £30 single each way.

Crowd of us going so I do 'change journey', amend number of people and price goes UP to £45.50 out and £37.50 return.

I actually call up and they say 'that's they way it is'...so I say, 'can I just book the same one ticket 7 times' and she says 'yes'.

!!!!!! is going on???

This really doesn't sound right - can you provide details on the journey / train comany and website you are using ?

If you increased the number of people travelling, then I'd expect the price to go up, as the price quoted will be the total for all the people travelling - but the price per person shouldn't go up.

without knowing what the ticket and the website you are using is, I have no idea.

Try booking flights, this sort of thing happens all the time. As already said could be limited availability ticket.

Well yes you can - but it may not be the same price on all the bookings

Like Quentin I suspect there is only one ticket left at the lower price.

Possible. I shall soon know as I'm going to go into a station and book as opposed to online....see if a human can do better than a computer!

How many people in this 'crowd'?

    Have you looked at groupsave?

Have you investigated the particular train operator's group booking schemes?
