grrr Ebayers

Hi all...
Grr i'm really angry. What does I do not post outside of the UK mean?????

Someone from Malaysia has bid on my bag and has won the auction by putting a late bid in, the other lady (in uk) says that she no longer wants it as she has started to bid on another bag, but don't really want to relist it cause this is the 4th attempt to sell the bliming thing.

Any advice or rough estimates on how much it would cost to post to Malaysia cause it's a long way away!!!

Thanks for listening to my gripe!!!

Yeah but couldn't really make heads nor tails of it. I think there are loads of different options and they range between 5-56 days delivery and between 24-60 postage.
Think this is too much of a gap between prices for me to have completed it properly

Is it a designer bag? If so then beware it might be a scam. Ie you post it and then they claim back from you.

In your options you can set what countries you sell to. Then unless they look at the english site, people won't even see your auctions.

Finally you can open a ebay dispute, and one of the options is that the buyers wants you to post to a destination you don't post to. I think you get your fees back if you do that.

The other option is to do it as a buy it now, with immediate payment. That way they can't buy the item and complete on it unless they pay you there and then.

    Hope this helps

If the item is worth a decent amount of money, then be wary of sending it abroad. It should be sent via international signed for, so that should the buyer start a chargeback you don't end up losing the bag, the postage and the money paid.

I had that happen with a mobile phone

The guy has 4 feedbacks so far at 100%.
It's a genuine Burberry Handbag. Emailled the person earlier today to say that I wasn't happy to hip to malaysia and he still put in another bid at less than 1 minute to go.
I have emailled him again now and told him not to pay via paypal yet untill I find out how much the shipping fees are.
Hopefully I can resolve this tomorrow after I have gone to the post office. If it does cost £60 then he'll have to pay it, it's his own fault for not listening to the previous email or listing description. If he refuses to pay then i'll put it thorugh disbute and leave feedback accordingly

    Hi

Grrrr i know what you are going through! I had this happen to me a few weeksa go with someone from the Czech Republic. I have now learnt my lesson and banned all foreign bidders.

I personally would weigh the item, go onto the Royal Mail website, use the pricefinder and get the price for airmail international signed for, check the compensation covers the value of the bag though.

    Good luck x

Hate to be the harbinger of doom but just a cautionary tale here...
A year or so back I sold a bag on Ebay to a USA bidder. It wasn't a posh bag, and she won by bidding way over the odds for it. All my genuine UK bidders dropped out when the price went well over what it was worth. She paid by Paypal straight away and I duly packed the bag up and sent it by 'International signed for' delivery via Royal Mail at a cost of over £14. Two days later I got a message from Paypal saying they had removed her funds from my account because she had paid with a stolen credit card. The funds had been returned to the card provider and I should not post the item - too late came the shout, it was already on its way. So I lost both bag and postage. The cheeky sow even had the nerve to email me a week later and say how pleased she was with the bag! Since then I have not accepted bids from overseas. All I got back was my final valuation fee, and she got Naru'd as it wasn't her first offence.

I have recieved an email this morning saying that it is going to a uk address,
I have asked them to pay this morning for the bag and I will hold onto it till at least tuesday/wednesday.That'll then give paypal time to collect the money back if needed.
They didn't pay well over the odds they got it for £28 plus postage £9. Shame the bag cost £160 in 2001. Never mind don't use it anyway I get called a chav (which really annoys me cause it's real) and haven't brought a designer bag since.

I would tell them you've posted it, then wait 2 days before actually posting it, just to be on the safe side. If she is from Malaysia with a UK address it won't be a confirmed paypal address, it possibly won't match her credit card registered address and there is little coverage from Paypal if things go wrong. I would even be tempted to tell her that you won't accept paypal from unconfirmed addresses.
