Dreadful credit record, wish to re-mortgage. Help please.

Hello - am hopin for some help please:
My credit record is appalling. Due to a combination of stupidity and head-burying I have one CCJ against my name, with a couple more in the pipeline. Mortgage has been held with bank of Scotland for five years now - I have missed one payment during that time, but made up the arrears over a year ago.
My fixed rate came to an end a couple of months ago and repayments have increased dramatically due to this. Am hoping, of course, to negotiate a new fixed rate elsewhere, but know that my credit record is pants and am afraid that nobody will touch me with a bargepole.
Anybody hve any advice?

HI there
Welcome to the board
You will be able to find a lender, but the rate offered will depend on your credit history - which by the sounds of it does not appear that good.
You'd need to cpmoare whether staying put is the best option compared to other deals you could get
Get an up to date copy of your Equifax or Experian credit file and then have a chat with a fee free whole of market adviser.
