Hi all
I thoght i would give you an update.
I called my local branch yesterday and told them i was having trouble and could not pay off my balance in full. The girl was very helpful but said she would get my manager to call me today as he was not in yesterday. Anyway after waiting until 1pm today i decided to call them again and got the same girl. She told me that my old branch had been on the phone to them and that i had been explained that they would allow me a plan if i got into a mess again as it was not responsible of me with my wages. Anyway she gave me a number to call the main collections office in edinburgh where my account would be passed to after i go into default. They said it was wrong of them to give me that number as i had not gone into default so they had no details on me.
After a little while passed the store manager called me from the branch again explaing that i already had i chance and now they could not do anything about it, they offered a step down plan which would mean me paying around £230 per month but that would mean hardly clearing the loan but just paying intrest. I told him i could not affored that and i was happy for it to go into default which he did not sound pleased about and told me the following.
They will be daily charges added to my accound when passed to collections.
They WILL contact my employers.
They can arrest my wages.
They will not accept £50 per month.
ect ect ect.
After i came off the call to him i called edinburgh again for some more info.
I got a guy called chris who was very helpful, he told me the following.
The guy instore is talking nonsense they DO NOT daily charge. Just a one off charge of £30 when passed over.
They try to help people get a payment plan.
I only need 30days bank statement to set up plan.
They will not keep on calling myself if i call them after my due date and get something sorted.
However he did say for a loan my size the would not accept £50per month but £100 is the bare minimum, they could seize my wages but they try to come to an agreement.
Im soooooo worried about this and dont know what to believe.
I did mention about the horror storys online and he said things had changed at the cheque centre from then.
PS
I told him i could make £100pm but no more and he gave me his name to call him when the accounts has defaulted.
Im just so concerned that he will be a completly different guy when i speak to him next ie No im not accepting your £100pm.
What do you guys think of my conversations?0 -
Anyone help please?0

Hiya, I just caught your thread.
I would be very wary about acting on the advice of anyone in the organisation because it is clear that this varies from person to person. Also their agenda is to get their money as quickly as possible.
Instead you should get some independent outside help from an organisation like Payplan, Stepchange or CAP (Christians Against Poverty; it is why they do it not how they do it so don't worry about the Christian tag) and let them know what is happening. Have a look on their websites to find out what they do, but Martin recommends them all on here for debt advice and support.
Please try not to worry, because as someone on here already said, they cannot take what you don't have.
Hope you get on ok.0 -

Hi and thanks for the response.
As i had said all other payday companys are on apayment plan which im delighted about, i just need to get the cheque centre sorted and im sure £100pm should be more than acceptable offer. I will phone one of these companys if they do not accept my plan after default.
Im just terrified of them calling my work 100 times a day!0 -
Did you get the name of the person you spoke to that would accept the £100? It might be worth ringing back and finding out if it has been noted on their system. That way if you do get calls you can tell the person who you made the arrangement with.
Just a suggestion.0 -
Sorry....just looked back and saw you said his name was Chris. Might still be worth seeing if he will give you a reference number or something that you can quote if you get calls.0
