Extension to Full and Final.

Options
Hi

I have a debt, one of many, that has been passed to numerous DCA's. I got home today to a letter offering me to pay a final settlement of £283.25, this is exactly 50% of the debt (£566.50). They want payment by 31/05 which I simply can't do. I am wondering if there is any chance that they will extend this offer if I phone them.

Does anybody know please x

Once a full & final settlement has been offered its usual that they will accept a similar deal in the future.

You could try calling them, but if you do that make sure they send out a new letter with a new date it is valid to before you pay.

Or you could wait until you are ready to make a full & final settlement and then write to them with your own letter offering an amount you can afford to pay (you might want to try offering less than 50%).

Thank you, that is good to know.

I will probably leave it until I can actually afford to pay and try offering a slightly lower amount.

    Which company is it?
Mckenzie Hall offered me a reduced F&F figure.. I called them and they agreed to spread it out over 3 months.

So you wont loose anything by asking them :-)

Discounts mean there is something wrong with the debt

ie its unenforceable, no CCA, penalty charges.

ignore them or offer them £50 as F&F on YOUR terms.
