Changing product with same lender whilst on a DMP

Hi there,

Does anyone know if lenders carry out a credit check when changing product?

I'm currently on a debt management plan and have a mortgage with the halifax which is coming to the end of a 2 year fixed term deal.

If I apply for another fixed term deal with the same lender will then run another credit check?

No they won't. As long as you aren't applying to borrow any more you won't be credit checked. I've changed my fixed rate with the same lender whilst having a rubbish credit file.

    Beanie is correct.

If you are only switching product (with no increase to borrowing, amendment/removal of any borrowers, or change of repayment method), then there is no requirement to credit check you.

    Hope this helps
