Hi All,
I am looking to get a mortgage as a first time buyer. As the title suggests, I had a little bit of a family crisis back home so ended up missing a 3 credit card payments from Jan - Mar 13.
I have since cleared my credit card balance and got my score back up to 952 and I have got 15-20% ready for down payment.
Do you think there is any chance of getting a mortgage? Has anyone on here been accepted before after missing a few payments?
Thanks for your advice in advance.

There's really no excuse. Have you set up a direct debit to pay the minimum balance every month in future?
Lenders differ in their approach to late payments. So you may receive declines to your application as they are so recent.0 -
With that deposit, this potentially can be mitigated. Largely this will depend upon the rest of your case and would consider using a broker.
Forget the score you get though, that is irrelevant.I am a Mortgage Broker

Some of the things people do to increase their so-called 'credit score' might be harmful to mortgage applications. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0
