Barclays/Woolwich experiences???

Hello,
As mentioned on a post yesterday we have had our application referred through Barclays/Woolwich due to a late payment.
I have just come across the website "Review Centre" 99.9% of the posts there slate Barclays/Woolwich for the service that people have received with regards to the application process and the length of time it takes to get anything done.
This is worrying me once again now as our buyers and the people whom we are purchasing want to move quickly and if this is approved i am concerned after reading these comments.
Does anybody else have any experiences of dealing with them?
Thanks

Without knowing the circumstances of each application, not possible to generalise.

Well I think I told you I am using them too, survey was done Friday and I have it today. I'd say that's pretty good but my mortgage guy has done all of the chasing and has kept it all going. I'd say they are great, but that could be down to broker!

They can be based upon broker experience and tenacity of the broker for sure.

We have had a few go through in quite fair timescales of late and they were by no means straightforward..

Sounds like you ticked all the boxes and sailed through. Which is the case for the vast majority of applications.

Their turn around time a month ago was shocking - but they had the best rates around... so everyone was going to them - part and parcel of using the cheapest usually.

Their process isnt too bad, i hate their online systemS and how you have to log into one place to submit an app and another to upload documents but thats not really for you to worry about. Once everything is with them theyre usually pretty good.

Some lenders are fussy and nit pick, woolwich dont really do that if the case is generally a good one.

Im not their biggest fan but thats purely down to their submission system which i hate. The rest is fine.

Also bare in mind, who goes online to write a good review? People only put their thoughts down if its negative. If you took to heart everything written on this forum you would be struggling to find a lender.

  • Hi Beccilou,

I don't know if this will help you but I applied for a remortgage with the Woolwich on 19/4 and my case was referred to the underwriters. The valuation was done on 13/5 and I was told today over the phone that the offer is being posted out to me. So all in all it has taken 5 and a bit weeks. I know it's a nail biting time but try not to worry :j
