You take a product that you could have got cheaper elsewhere...

That aside, with your mortgage value anyone recommendation that includes a product/lender fee is likely not to be the optimum product.

I've tried L&C and so far they seem v.good.

I've used L+C for over 10 years now. EVERY time I have used them, they have been spot on in their advice and helpful and speedy.

Last time I needed a remortgage I'd found a great HSBC deal and L+C agreed it was the best one for me and to go with that rather than their deal as it wasn't as good as HSBCs.

Talking to a friend today, she is putting a formal complaint in as their service was shocking, delayed paperwork, several mistakes, wrong solicitors details used - another friend joined the conversation and said how awful they were for her house move last year. My MIL told me last month how she'd never use them again.

Seems the advisors are variable - I'd always been with a fantastic one - so good she'd been promoted and no longer took my call - but seems the replacements are not living up to the previous service I'd received from L+C.

So good luck to you Phill - I hope you've got a good advisor on the end of the phone. Time will tell.
