New Mattress Recommendations circa £300

Please could anyone recommend a decent one? I know the budget is quite low - I didn't realise they were that expensive!
The one we have now is about 10 years old and is starting to play havoc with our backs due to broken springs etc!
We are after a firm pocket sprung one after testing a few today at the local bed shop.
I have come across the following ones online, thoughts please?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/SIGNATURE-PLATINUM-2000-ORGANIC-MATTRESS/dp/B0077CD7A4/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
http://www.mattressonline.co.uk/Product/Rest-Assured-Novaro-1000-Pocket-Ortho-Mattress-P1028
We would welcome any other recommendations.
Thanks.

I got one locally to me in Fife, its an Apollo 'Chelsea', a little over your price at £350 but I have certainly slept a lot better with it.
Its a pocket sprung with a memory foam topping and fully reversible.0 -
I recently spent £300 on a Posturepedic from Sealy and it is lovely, proper firm with a tasty discount via Bensons (their number 5 firmest mattress). No experience of the beds in your links sorry.0

There is a huge amount of information on this site.

I found it very helpful when I was looking for a mattress.
I bought one of these for my daughter and am really pleased with it. It is so comfy I am tempted to sleep in her bed while she is away at uni.

I'm after a couple of matresses too, the one is a sealy so, thats what I was looking for again, the silver range was under £300 around here though.0 -
Something like this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/MATTRESS-QUILTED-MAXI-COOL-MANUFACTURED-PILLOWS/dp/B00D1UVB1S/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1384201560&sr=8-2&keywords=memory+foam+mattress
Having bought a foam mattress I would not return to a sprung mattress and the foam ones tend to come cheaperLife is like a box of chocolates - drop it and the soft centres splash everywhere0 -
hi, i have come across this one
http://www.wedo-mattresses.co.uk/shire-eco-snug-mattress.html
seen it at a local cut price bed/furniture shop, £495 for divan with this mattress
please advise if it seems ok and worth the price also, the covering material seems to be some sort of soft looking fibre, not damask.
is a damask covering better?
thanksNice to save.0 -

For the money it looks like it's a lot of mattress. Especially with those fillings, although the fillings won't be very deep/heavy.
As for the cover, it's more like a teddy bear type cover instead of a damask, nothing wrong with it at all. The cover will feel softer then Damask.
Just bear in mind it's nearly 12 inches deep!Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
