We're off to CenterParc for the week, can't wait to try Lu on one of those "trail-along" bikes (the ones where they have no front wheels and attach to the back of an adult bike). She's excited about it because she likes going fast. Once she gets the hang of it, we'll do some mountain biking and perhaps some freestyling off 10ft platforms and jumps. ;)

Sounds like fun! Maybe you should have taken Lu skiing off piste instead? ;) At least she would have had snow to land on!:D

I hope the weather is really good for you!

I second that. From your posts earlier this week it sounds like you deserve it.

Personally I'm going back to my folks place, as it was my sister's birthday last week (I was at a wedding last week so couldn't go then). So there'll be a few beers drunk tonight, saturday and sunday, with a but of studying (hopefully) done in between. If possible, I might even pop onto the site for the DFW partay!

Have a great weekend everybody!

Ooh well done Keren. I am with GMAC (aren't they called GE Money now) until Feb. How did you get such a good rate. I am desperate to remortgage in Feb but have got 4 defaults.

Noooo..............totally separate - in fact I've gone to GE Money (First National). I still can't quite get a prime mortgage, but Iwas classed as Near Prime Plus, so next time (in 3 years) it'll be High Street for me!!! Ihave a CCJ with 11 months left on to run for £500 which is my sticking point, even though it is satisfied. Ihad a default but that dropped off 5 days ago!

Brilliant news Keren, that's a substantial drop in interest, so should ease up the monthly budget quite a bit!

    Certainly will Storm!

Actually, what it will mean is that it might be easier to earn a living with AQA. My old salary was pretty good (god, I would have had loads of spare money if I hadn't have been made redundant earlier this month!) and i'm going to give AQA a go full time. I've worked out that my outgoings without food and petrol with the new mortgage will be £1050, so just need to add food and petrol on top of that.

I'm confused now  I took my mortgage out with GMAC and then they wrote to me to tell me it had been taken over by GE Money

My interest rate is nearly 10%  and I've got no CCJ's (but then I think defaults are as bad aren't they?) I am desperately trying to settle the defaults and then ask the lenders to remove them.

Well done though. If the worst comes to the worst I am going to ask GE Money to look at reducing my rate in Feb when the redemption clause ends.

(PS Sorry to hijack the thread, I was just interested)
