ANY suggestions would help...

hi,im new to this site, and was wondering if anybody had any advice for me...
my situation is, last october i was fired from my job.with no income,i ate anto my overdreaft.now,on top of the charges i incurred from the o/draft,i was also paying back a loan to my bank.obviously when i lost my job,i couldnt cintinue to meet the loan repayments.i contacted the bank, explained my situation but was informed nothing could be done to help me.
i contacted a debt advisor who told me to ignore the letters from the bank until, either they take me to court,or i can afford to start payin everything back.
im trying to get my feet back on the ground, but im going from rubbish job to rubbish job, have a very small income and im in quite a lot of debt considering im only 20!
any advice would be appreciated.

How much debt are you in?

try posting a full list of your incomings and outgoings (an SOA) and we can try to help you!

Have you signed on with plenty of recruitment agencies?

First off ignore the monumentally stupid advice on ignoring the banks letters.

I was in your position last year so I have every sympathy - its taken nearly 18 long months to catch up.

    This is my advice.

    1. Open a new bank account and have your wages paid into this account.
    2. Stay in one rubbish job if you can - at least for the time being.
    3. Post an SOA so we can evaluate the problem
    4. Start a claim to claim back your charges
    5. Write to the bank and explain the problem and offer them SOMETHING - even if it is only £1 per month.
    6. Pay them what you agreed to pay them.
    7. Respond to every letter you receive even if it is just to repeat yourself.

This is what i did last year and it stood me in great stead.
