I've just tried to apply for a HSBC account and been rejected due to credit score :(

    Help? lol

Edit - just seen previous comment regarding different accounts, will try one of those

HSBC/First Direct are the most picky of the mainstream banks as far as I know.

Register your number with the telephone preference service (TPS). As part of your correspondence with the PDL companies, include a note saying that you do not wish to be contacted by phone anymore, and that you wish to have your details removed from their marketing database. You withdraw any permission to use, pass on or sell your contact details.

Then delete them when they come in. It will tail off eventually.

Definitely, just wish i knew about this site earlier and I wouldnt of got into this position in the first place!

Also i find it astonishing repayment plans aren't more advertised. Why pay off interest only if it's possible to freeze interest and pay in installments! Baffles me

They don't make money from repayment plans and frozen interest! They rub their hands with glee at those who rollover their loans, even at the end of the term, if the full payment can't be made they'll have made a pretty whack in the rollover charges! There'll be plenty if people in your situation and the situation I have been in who will continue to struggle without seeking any help, these are their best customers!

They're not obliged to accept a repayment plan and have the option of taking you to court, but most lenders recognise a judge is unlikely to order you to pay more than you're offering in any event and just accept.

You can't pay more than you have, so they can swivel if they don't accept it and demand more.
