max mortgage lender

Currently I have 35% deposit and HBSC (my only quote so far), HSBC have given me 4.75 x my salary. Does anyone know of a lender who will offer 5 x salary or more! I have a good deposit but I'm after another 50-70k in London. Who shall I try! Or is 4.75% the max for 1st time buyer.

There are several lenders who offer 5x gross annual income, less any credit commitments, dependents, childcare costs etc.

Speak to a broker if you need help establishing the most affordable amount you can borrow.

Thanks for advice. I moved to the UK from mainland Europe 4 years ago. I do have 2 dependents, wife doesn't work at the moment looks after my very young children. HSBC didn't seem to mind that much maybe because of been a customer for 4 years I gather. I have no debts/loans also virtually no child cost care. Would this hinder my 5 plus requirement? .......will try a broker next week

Try different lenders' online affordability calculators to get a feel for the different ways of calculating borrowing power.
