I got fobbed off last night on overcharge of a sauce, firstly that they don't do the £2 gift cards anymore, and after she checked with superior they only do it for Asda products. :(

Meant to check today whether it is written in black and white somewhere. :o

I did see Truffle Hunter there eyeing up the sauces when SA came with me to check SEL but I don't think she recognised me without my winter coat on. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Or maybe the beauty sleep is actually working. :D

Hi again - well, good morning now!:) Back from S and A - neither shop went entirely as planned:D. In S, went to SS checkout, but paper in coupon-printer got jammed and failed to print. Expected Brand Mtch, so had supervisor refund the whole lot, then put through again (but I ended up with double Nectars:) - supervisor said not to worry, actually about triple Nectars once the BM refund is counted next time - pennies anyway, but coupon printer was going to print the same £x off online shopping that they've been trying to get me to take for several months now - not doing it - would have to spend way too much and can't get any BM off an online shop - that coupon jammed, on the re-run it gave me double points off fuel, a bit more useful:).)

BM for a bit less than the amount expected - it'll be something daft like the description on the competitor's website not being entirely the same - or perhaps I bought an incorrect item:eek:: not to worry much, as I do get £2.50 Nectar off quite often.

In A, tried a mix and match on Heinz soup (four different varieties, one of each:rotfl:) - multis off on a.com and MSM (although still there, logged in). For some reason I insisted on one of the cans being Chicken Soup;). "Any 4 for £3" showing on SELs but multi did not come off on receipt:(. They did a refund of the 56p (comparing vs Waities behind all this by the way) and I asked if there was a £2 GC. Told me no, they don't do them anymore. Sometimes I like a ground for complaint.

To be fair though - alert: Tosco rant coming later in this post! - their customer service itself is excellent and at worst position not to worry too much as APG expected will be quite small, but then so was the original spend. Really I don't see there should be any reason for trouting - it seems some staff of stores refuse customers on their own whim and make up a rule to deny them (which changes depending on what you are asking for). The policies though are the policies and either all staff should be trained in them or, if a member of staff doesn't know, they ought to say they don't know and try to find the answer - there's no real excuse for giving inaccurate information and then refusing on that basis. If we are using the policies properly, and following them (and often knowing more about them than the staff themselves do), then there should never be any trouting. However, this doesn't happen. Trouting exists.

Again, though, no consistency or understanding of the policy. Some of you may remember my precursor to all this when I reported on here I was told the £2 GC would end come June and that, in future, it would only apply to grocery items. (This being when I bought a bendy ruler, a non-grocery product.)

So I try some soups. Clearly a grocery product. This time they don't do £2 GCs - none of them at all apparently! Maybe, as someone's reported, it's only on own-brand products now. But, if so, that's not what they said tonight and it seems the £2 GC thing is still on the link at A in-store that someone's helpfully provided. So off to HQ for a clear explanation of what the position actually is - and possibly I'll end up with a £10 GC.

Actually my rant about T - I'll put it in my next post as got to refer to external articles:D. You have been warned folks:rotfl:;):).

Can't say I've personally done that, but I would question why the store let it continue? To have 10 opportunities to put it right, but to choose to ignore it leaves the store open to abuse and therefore they're fair game. to be exploited.
It wouldn't take much for an SA to remove the product or the SEL or amend the SEL etc......would it ?
This was for the try me love me mentioned. If you try an Asda branded product like crisps for example and don't like the taste say they were too salty, you get a refund and we replace them, either with the same item ( say you have had them before and it's never been a problem) or with a similar priced item/next brand up.
When it comes to sels on the other hand I am a bit of a nag and moan until they change it

    T rant!:mad::mad::mad::mad::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Perhaps wondering what you think about this -

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/10095913/Asda-to-send-surplus-chilled-foods-to-charity-after-Bogof-waste-warning.html

An article from a few days ago now, taken from the Telegraph, about food waste - and cue me falling in support of A and S and criticising T again. (It just seems to me...)

It reports about bogof promotions and Lord Prescott saying bogofs lead to increased food waste and the retailer trade body saying the link is 'very small'. Lord Prescott's said customers should have the option of asking the supermarket to send the extra one to a food bank. Asda, it reports, scrapped bogofs in 2009 and has now launched a scheme to send chilled food surplus direct to Fareshare.

And - cue T rant! - article then goes on about T launching a campaign in May to cut food waste. T "...now says food will come in smaller sizes":rotfl::rotfl: - so cue T charging us the same price for getting less. Okay if we aren't wasting it, but can also be seen as giving us less value, especially if we are careful not to waste the quantity we get - as throwing food away generally wastes money. I say "generally" because sometimes you can have bizarre situations where a greater quantity actually costs, outright, fewer pence than a smaller one - or even £3/any 2 for £2.50. (I think the rationale is that, apart from getting rid of stock, people often actually miss a multibuy even if it is there.)

    The article turns to Sains.

I think - although it seems a bit misquoted and could actually be referring to '3 for 2' offers - they are quoted as saying "large families appreciate multi-buy offers such as '2 for 3'" I]sic[/I. I think this might mean "2 for £3". Whether a large family or not, I can tell you I don't appreciate 2 for £3.00!!:rotfl::rotfl:(I'd much rather have the previous price of £1 each - and buy only one! Or, better, compare vs that - and with a multi glitch elsewhere whereby the one comparing item goes high price to compare vs that £1 for it!)

Back to T and cue my criticism again. T quoted in the article: "BOGOF deals only account for a small proportion of our promotions". Yes, that may well be true, but note the words carefully! What about 3 for 2s? Notice how, in typical T style to me, they've only referred to "BOGOF deals". Thus allowing them to exclude 3 for 2s and 4 for 3s (arguably even more wasteful) and to say that BOGOFs only form a small proportion. I bet that proportion is not so small when the 3 for 2s etc. are added! Especially when, if they have moved to 3 for 2s, allowing them now to be able to say that BOGOFs are a small proportion, the 3 for 2s also represent less value compared to BOGOFs, if the individual price is the same (and we know individual prices are often inflated so as to be the same price each but requiring us to buy more to get that), 3 for 2s being about a 66% charge per item rather than 50%.
