Edit: I've just noticed here that you need to use the vouchers after the 10th. So I'm going to split a shop to get two £5 vouchers and then use those two vouchers in two separate transactions next week. A faff but worth it for the amount of stuff we buy for cooking.
Saying nothing, but buying online visa gift cards in a Ts shop earlier for my extra 150 cc also generated a HH ....

I probably shouldn't be replying to this but ought to be letting it pass by: the original post appears to have been deleted but, unfortunately, that hasn't stopped me seeing a quotation of it. I say "unfortunately" due to some of the below.I've highlighted the part that got to me a bit. I make all efforts and try extremely hard to avoid offending others (in fact people wouldn't know how much my strenous efforts to achieve that cut me up sometimes) and any decent human bring would do so. No-one on this thread knows me in RL and therefore how can anyone here be deciding am I not? Is the suggestion of "is going to try to be" that I am not a decent human being? Indeed, regardless of whether or not that suggestion was intended, I find it quite offensive to suggest I'm not.
I can try to brush this off, but I'm afraid sometimes it does rather annoy and I'm afraid physically set my heart racing. Such a strong physical reaction can only be called "serious offence". So, I'm sorry, your own "speaking of your mind" has caused offence to me and therefore is itself "rude". I am afraid there can never be any speaking of anyone's mind but someone somewhere is always going to take exception to it and therefore their own rights to respect and avoidance of rude or arrogant behaviour always trumps anyone else's claim to be able to speak their mind.
There is also, among all this, the requirement to make reasonable adjustments for someone else's disability. One of the symptoms of Asperger's syndrome is a tendency to speak one's mind or not to be able to suppress internal thoughts and therefore anyone else's protection from someone else being rude (merely rude, I suppose, rather than being actually offensive) has to be balanced against the right of someone else to avoid discrimination because of a recognised disability.
It's also suggested that I have to "learn the difference" between speaking my mind and being arrogant and rude. The suggestion is that I don't know the difference between them and it's a suggestion that I find quite belittling and offensive.
The post also says "particularly if one has a high IQ and a low tolerance level towards others' 'errors'". Why did it have to be personalised in such a way and a personal aim against myself? I'm sorry, it's wrangling me!
For one - to begin on the last part of that quote - I have a low tolerance level to my own errors, let alone anyone else's. At no point did I interject to say or suggest that anyone else had made an "error". Indeed, I said quite the opposite: that the post was useful in telling us about an offer available from Boots. Secondly, the point about a "high IQ" misses the fact that intelligence quotient (IQ) tests often measure a particular type of "intelligence", including arguably bias towards more abstract levels of intelligence (which aren't particularly traits associated with Asperger's). It therefore misunderstands, in my view, the "intelligence" that many IQ tests have traditionally measured and assumes that, on that basis, I would have a high IQ. Not necessarily.
Regarding speaking from "personal experience", that can only be what everyone can speak from. Perhaps it assumes that I don't have "personal experience", of my own, from which I therefore can't speak. I haven't certainly experienced personal experience and can only speak from that.
As I said I shouldn't have posted this reply, although I find myself inescapably drawn into doing so, and this shouldn't be a distraction away from the aim of this thread.
Right folks, back to the things that should matter more such as everyone contributing to helping other's save money.0 -
Sorry people, I've been distracting onto that and lost track of the time. I'll have to go and the rest of what I was going to post or changes I was going to make to my lists will have to wait to another day.

SB consider yourself slapped with a wet fish
Wasn't too keen on your support for this. But I can relate to being slapped by a wet fish and the good intention behind that.
May it be amiss of me (if so, apologies) to note that, as far as I'm aware, there was nothing said by EMMAP on all this.
That's it - I'm moving on - not completely 100% pleased at the minute but I'll see you again folks Thurs. night. Water under the bridge by now.0 -

it's fine savvy :staradmin:staradmin you're a star and bring loads to the thread. The original person who was offended is fine after a short explanation. Sometimes people miss things?
