Hi there, good evening!
It was a very nice sunny evening earlier, so obviously the first thing you do is go into Morries and stay there obatining prices:rotfl::rotfl:, obviously:rotfl:!
Well I happened to make a visit to that part of town, went into Ms and thought I'd just have a quick look at a bit of what might be changing - and ended up doing the full collection!:rotfl:And didn't time fly...:D
I think there was a background thought about all the recent 'glitching' - or at least one or two items glitching over the weekend - anyway, I've obtained the details and there are brand new lists vs M on the usual part of the first page!! Nearly already complete!
Might make Wednesday's collection (which is still on as usual) a little easier (or not!).
Last week, it was all the various bolognese sauces frustrating me! Now, it's the Nivea products this week! So many different ones and seemingly so many different prices - it was, at first, hard to work out what from my list had changed. Then I thought of just scrapping looking for ones already in my list - to see if their price had changed - and then adding others that now looked very good - and just methodically taking all Nivea prices (those on offer) on the shelf. Then I noticed most of the labels still had the "Offer valid until 2/6" on them. I've therefore removed many of the Niveas from the list, as the shelving is unreliable and I can't confirm what the prices are. This will be checked again on Wednesday and hopefully may have some update.
I don't suppose you really need highlights tonight - they're (almost) already on there, on the lists. However:
I see you've beaten me already as you've found some Surf washing - is it washing powder? (not caught up yet - couldn't find the initial post and anyway doing the M list) - 18 washes scanning at 87p. Sort of makes the Surf Tropical 50 washes price I had from M tonight paininto insignificance (even though the £5 price M now have that at is the lowest price I've seen in any of the major supermarkets for Surf washing powder since September 2011). So I'm not putting it into the list - as it's twice as expensive as the 87p scanning on 18 washes.
M now have the Frijj milkshakes on offer at 50p each (and also the Yazoo still at 50p but why bother?) - would have been better if they'd had the Frijjs at 50p last week but never mind! They are, now, 50p in M - the versions M stocks are on my Avs M list, just hoping/waiting for them to feed into the APG system.
So brand new lists, ready and waiting, and almost finished.
Just getting to the freezer parts now - still a few of what I think are very good offers - to go, and then onto the cleaning/toiletries/beauty products (I seem to have got more from those areas of the store than any others!:( or, for you - and me later -:j perhaps). Enjoy!:):)
I'll talk about some price increases probably tomorrow - such as the Strongbow 20, last week £10 in M (and returning N/A on the APG:(:() - now "Great Value", they say, at £12!:rotfl::rotfl:
Tetley 240 pack - these are ones not now to buy - £2.89 last week, now "great value" £4.00. And the Fudco Pappadums - was 50p, now 69p. Kiwi Fruit 4 pack - was 50p, now 59p.
Ok - enough - a bit to add onto the two lists and then I'm off, I'll talk to you later, and ready for any question that might ever been asked now regarding Ms:D (I've mixed together the T & M part again, but you don't realise how long it takes to separate them and then put the info. back together to collect it all - so the current format, of Avs M and TvsM/M cheaper, a compromise on that - it would be more ideal for me if I had one big long list - at least I've now got it so it's made it a little easier - but I know that wouldn't be as helpful for those shopping in different stores).
While I'm here, and perhaps a precursor to something we might discuss tomorrow, the determination of what is, or isn't, good value, I go by the prices per unit - but this can lead to some strange inconsistency at times. And, when I see a better offer, I tend to lower the price per unit I have before it then 'triggers' my inclusion of the product on one of my lists in future. For example the large packs of alcohol, I was originally taking prices as low as £2.00/100L. Then the prices went down to around £1.50/L and some as low as £1.27/L. I've chosen the ones at the rock bottom. No more £1.80/L or £2.00/100ml from me!
But it does lead to the strange situation where the Bavaria 6 pack - that people here usually buy (perhaps if there aren't any MOCs available at the time) when it reaches £1.00 at a competitor of A. In M it is currently (today) £2.00, which is way too expensive on that level - but this £2.00 represents £1.01/L so, in comparison to my lows on other products in this area, perhaps I should be including it and excluding the others. What is - and you may well PM me on this - the low price per unit on various items (any items you wish, not just alcohol or drink) that should be my trigger point? I may well ask you to PM me - and perhaps take the price around what most people are telling me or perhaps take the lowest price I get*. In addition to that in general, more specifically if you ever see an item on my list that you don't think should be there - as it doesn't represent good value or you know a far better, cheaper alternative, please let me know!
TIA - and goodnight! (Updating of list continuing in the background for a few more minutes.):):)
* I already, of course, have my own low levels before I consider an offer to be very good. However, should I be setting them even lower than what I am? Have you had a good bargain that really wipes the floor off the prices (even 10% off them) that find their way onto my list?0 -
In other words:
New Morries lists on page one!!
And if you don't think I'm on the right track, please don't be afraid to tell me (but do be prepared to back it up, e.g. I think your item is too dear because it's £x.xx per kg whereas mine, this item ..., is xxp/kg) - no good just saying "...this shouldn't be there" and not telling me any more than that:rotfl:.
Goodnight!!:):)0 -

Loose pears. This looks good.
It's £2.95/kg:eek::eek::eek: for A vs £1.80/kg:eek: in T though, so if you are needing more pears and perhaps buying a pack, it would be better to buy packs of 1kg when they hit a low of £1.00, than effectively be paying £1.80x0.9 per kg via APG comp. Depends on what you are buying and what you need though. There's not much pear that's still cost 35p! Mind you, I paid £1.25 for about 1kg pack of pears last time, a day or so ago in Lidl.
But I digress - and I've got to go for the night now I'm afraid. See you later!0 -
Morning all
Flo Flo the Carex is now back on MYS showing 2 for £4.00 in Asda (well, it is at the moment). Still 62p in Sainsbobs.0
