Morning all.
What a smashing day. Are we being treated to 2 sets of Summer this year? It will probably snow and rain for the rest of the year now. Hahahaha.
Can anyone get the Mr Shoes . com website to work? It keeps phasing out each time I try and add something or try looking at my basket. Anyone else having the same problem?
Have a good Friday all.0 -
My neighbours smoke outside their backdoor and I'm a non smoker so obviously when the smoke carries over the fence I notice.
We have a similar fence between our gardens to the one shown in your picture only it's about 6ft tall.
I just put up with the smell and saying something to my neighbours has never crossed my mind. The way I see it, they're only having the odd one and the smell passes reasonably fast.
There's many worse smells that pass over my fence, have you considered having a BBQ or getting one of them metal bins and burning some paper near the fenceat least if he sprayed air freshner at that he'd probably come off worse
Our neighbours the other side (we live in a terrace) had a BBQ last week and DH was grumbling about it being right next to the fence while our washing was out so to stop him being a miserable fart I bought the washing in, it didn't even wiff of anything but lenor.
I spose the way I see it is do whatever you feel you need to, but only you can tell what's the best option as you have to live next to them. We can all joke about hosepipes etc.. but we don't have to endure whatever that neighbour might do next.Emily_Rachel wrote: »Hello cauciuca , from your picture it looks like the fence between you is not much of a barrier. Big gaps between those planks! Your neighbour is obviously rude, unpleasant, and trying to intimidate you, but I can also see that his table would be very close to your back door, and can acknowledge how unpleasant smoke can be to non-smokers. This does not condone his behaviour, but please don't make it into a war by retaliating with hosepipes etc. The best solution is usually one where both of you 'win'. Do you think adding a reed matting (or something similar) 'privacy screen', attached to your side of the fence would help? You would not be able to see eachother, he would find it more difficult to spray through at you, and it may help stop the smoke from drifting into his face too. You could maybe try sitting a little further away, or maybe just face away from him too. If this still does not work, the communtity policeman sounds like a good next move. Best of luck with this one. Nasty neighbours are horrible to live with. Hugs to you.
We bought this house 2 years ago and fully refurbished the inside, we just got left to do the bathroom and the back garden. We're planning to build a covered decking at the back and lay the rest of the garden with astro turf. Then it shouldn't be a problem anymore 'if' there is one. I founded that it was really offensive him swearing in his foreign language and didn't know how to react. I have never complained when they're having bbqs that last one day and I had washing out drying. None of them are working and when it's sunny they always have a BBQ so if I'm out when I come back my washing goes back in the washing machine. Even now when I type this post he's lighting it up. I'll do my part to have peace but if he doesn't change behaviour I might report him. One of my colleagues she's from Slovakia and next time I'll record him, she'll translate for me.
I'm not even going to try to find 1p chocs, my shop is rubbish.0 -
