After Bankruptcy?

My husband and are were discharged from Bankruptcy 3yrs ago.
My mother has recently passed away leaving me with a lot of money. I don't want to put this money into out currant account but cannot find another bank to help.
It does not seem fair that I am giving the bank over 200k to look after for me and use as they wish but they wont help me!
Yes I know we are now being punished for past events, we have served our time and been through hell and back.
I need an account with access to my money with good interest if possible.
At the minute we bank with Santander and have there basic running account.
Any ideas anyone please?

I would find a good local qualified Independent Financial Advisor, they could offer the best advice as to how to invest the money.

  • Could you try savings accounts? Yorkshire BS and Newcastle BS have been fine with me and you can move money around online. Newcastle have a reasonable rate and YBS have a cash machine card.
