What a fab offer. But I can't justify one right now so its probably a good thing that the one I'd buy is out of stock (the royal blue). Must keep telling myself my 30 yo Kenwood does everything I need...

Bought one for my mum as a present in 1972..... think it cost about £40... quite a lot of money then but it is still going strong and used very frequently to this day!!!!
3.995kWP SSW facing. Commissioned 7 July 2011. 24 degree pitch + Solar Immersion installed May 2013, after two Solar Immersion lasting just over the guarantee period replaced with Solic 200... no problems since

A Kitchenaid product will last you many years. Its a big initial outlay but its worth it for the years use you will get out of it. I've waited years to get one and took the opportunity to get one for my birthday a few months ago. I've used it a lot already and its faultless, you rarely need to go past speed 4/5 to do any job and to be frank you shouldn't either (on a regular basis) to get maximum lifetime out of the machine.

Mine replaced a 1960's Kenwood Chefette, which was just giving up the ghost by throwing plumes of smoke at you when it was given tasks like buttercream, let alone bread which it couldn't handle at all. It had good innings that one.

I have a Kitchenaid blender too which is used masses, it was purchased in early 2006 so is just over 7 years old and still going strong. I've just in the last couple of weeks replaced the rubber coupler with a replacement found on eBay, easy job to do yourself and cost me £8.

They really are solid machines, built for reliability. The 5 year warranty serves very well against any factory defects your machine may have and the customer service is brilliant. Many of my family have Kitchenaid products and have done for some time. I've not known anyone to have any problems and mixers are used on a regular basis. Make sure you register your product immediately via the website so they have a record of your date of purchase etc.

There is a very solid grounds for their brilliant reputation and many reasons why a lot of chefs, bakers, domestic and professional kitchens across the world use their products.

This was a wedding present to my parents in 1983 and my Mum gave it to me when she inherited my late Grandma's Kenwood Major. I use it pretty much every week and its fantastic... It's just not as pretty as the Kitchen Aid!

I had my Kenwood Chef refurbished two years ago when it stopped working and it's like new. I love the look of the Kitchen Aid, now if only they had the glass bowl instead of the stainless steel one and it was standard, not an extra £62+ I'd be very tempted to buy the Red one! I would love one with the glass bowl ............! ;)

Thanks so much for this - we have £100 of vouchers from our wedding list, so we basically end up getting them back :)

Always wanted one, and if we dont get it now we never will... here's hoping it lasts as long as I hope!!!

Well, I've finally given in and gone for it. Been trying to talk myself out of it but really wanted one lol. I ordered over the phone tonight and the girl said that I'd still be entitled to the vouchers so online should be fine too. All excited now!

Savvy - It is a good deal, wasn't disputing that, just offering my tips as a die hard investigative moneysaving consumer. I don't spend money easily, no matter how good a deal, until I fully investigatate what I need, what options are out there and do my research.

Not meant to say one is better then the other, just depends on what you need. The Kenwood sold me (not as pretty as kitchen aid, totally agree) down to its multifunction capacity - as it is a food processer (attachments included) Blender (attachments included) I believe this is why the extra power is needed, the food processer is fabulous btw, blender is a backup only for me as I have a vitamix

Thanks for posting about the Kenwood Chef. Was trying to decide which was best between the Kitchenaid and the Kenwood Kmix - the Kenwood Chef wasn't even on my radar. However, having looked at it on Amazon I definitely think it's the one for me. Not as pretty as the other two but quite an impressive piece of kitchen equipment, you do get a lot for your money. Now just need to start saving my pennies...! :)
