Lloyds TSB Default

Hi, I recently posted about a default by Lloyds TSB on my husband's credit file.
When Lloyds TSB had the debt my husband made several arrangements with them to make repayments and stuck to them However he would later get letters advising him he wasn't paying etc. he would call Lloyds TSB who would have no record of payment plan and he would create a new plan for the same thing to happen the next month. This went on and on for ages and my husband tried to rectify but was told when he called the customer service centre to go into branch and vice versa. it all turned into a big mess! in the end Lloyds sold the debt to Wescott which we were relieved about to be honest but now my hubs as a default on his credit file (with 4 years left) is there anyway to have this removed or do you think we should just ride the 4 years out? we were hoping to move in a couple of years so obviously the default will have a major impact on that. We still have some letters from Lloyds confirming repayment plans etc?
Thanks in advance x

I doubt he can do anything to remove it.
You say that he made an arrangement to pay Lloyds. Even if the payment plan had proceeded as arranged, he still defaulted on the original debt by not making the agreed repayments and having to make an arrangement. What was it, a loan or overdraft or something?

Ah I see. Thank you for explaining - all the terminology is abit confusing. I just asked him about it again and it was an OD that he basically lost control of as charges were eating his wages, causing more charges etc so he tried to get the charges frozen. He'll have to just suck it up then. Hindsights a wonderful thing
thanks again x

Little chance of getting the default removed.
Although if they kept piling on charges after agreeing a repayment plan, you could complain to get those removed.
You would need statements, a breakdown from Westcott or submit a SAR to Lloyds to get all the account history. Might be worth a go.
