NHS dental treatment cost

Am over 18 and am still in F/T education, so do i have to pay for dental treatment in england?

    basic services are free at the point of use just like everyone else....if you want to get prescriptions charges off then fill in a HC11 form.

    Are you talking dentist? If you are, then yes you have to pay unless you can get the HC form. Takes a while to come through, so do it soon.

    Students Union, larger post offices, if you have a read of Jayne-Mam's link you'll find links from that. I don't think you can download it, at least you couldn't last time I hunted.

    For people in full time education, NHS dental treatment is free until their 19th birthday.

    After that, filling in a means-tested HC1 form may get you a partial or full exemption from NHS charges.

    If you have a private dentist, then there is no state refund.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
