Full and Final Payment?

I had a contract with TMobile. I didnt renew it because I was moving to Sweden. I didnt cancel it because I was coming back to SCotland for a wedding the month after I moved (contract ended the month of the wedding). I ended up sick and was in and out of hospital for 3 and a half months. When I got out of the hospital I had horrible letters from moorcroft debt recovery about not paying the phone bill when I was in the hospital.
I wrote a letter explaining and showing documentation I had been in out out of hospital having surgery, etc and that I had not extended my contract with the phone company and had not used the phone in that time. The bill was around £75. I offered £20 as I was trying to be fair and pay what I owed on my old contract plus a little extra. In my letter with the cheque I asked for my name not to be associated with the address they had of the friend that was nursing me and to accept this as my full and final payment.
They cashed the cheque and are still sending letters to my friend's address. I dont even live in Britain anymore, but I would like this cleared up. When they cashed the cheque, didnt they accept that it was full and final payment? What does this mean for my friend who took care of me...does it affect her credit as the address is the same?
