A little advice please :)

Options
Hi,

I am writing on behalf of my boyfriend. He has been making reduced payments on old lloyds debts to Westcott, BLS and a company called ALC.

He spoke to LLoyds today who say they have no record of the account that has been taken over by ALC. He has been paying £10 a month to then for some time now (he is not certain of how long) and has not heard from them. The lady he spoke to a Lloyds suggested he just stop the standing order to them.

Has anyone heard of ALC? Is the lady's advice correct and if so should we be sending a letter to them explaining the ceasation of payment? Do we just cancel and see what happens?

We are going to check his credit report tonight to see if it is noted on there. He doesn't want to be paying a bogus company (and he hasn't checked before because he didn't have me poking around his finances then! )

Any help will be greatly appreciated

What written documentation has he got from any of these companies?

He has up to date statements from Westcot and bls but nothing from alc, he can't remember when he started paying them either which isn't great!

    OK

Stop making payments to ALC. If they contact him send a prove it letter.

Has there ever been a time when he was not paying any of these debtsa for a full 6 years?

Thanks Ras, he has always paid them albeit for a long time at reduced rates. I think I need to get what paperwork he has so the information I am giving you is less sketchy. Just going to have a look at his noddle
