Can I cash in my ISA....

...which is worth about £500 and use it to pay BR costs? Or will the OR see that as being a bit dodgy? Not entirely sure where else i'll get £485 from!
Also, aren't there certain circumstances in which you don't have to pay the full fees? I currently have no income (on maternity leave) but do you have to be on benefits to be exempt from the charges?
Cheers guys!

Hi norserose,
No problem with cashing in your ISA. Indeed some unscrupulous people would cash in their ISA to pay for day to day living expenses and withdraw cash from a credit card or overdraft to pay for their bky fees.
The court fees of £150 are waived if you're on benefits or (I think) a low income, but you may need to prove the low income; the courts don't seem to adopt a consistent approach.

Yes,
Most OR's don't bat an eyelid if you withdraw the BR fees on your CC, so the ISA will be no problem.
Check with your local court about exemption from the £150. They will tell you which circumstances allow you to apply for this, and give you the form.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Cheers guys. Better get on it then as I have an awful feeling it may take 30 days to cash!
