Hi Everyone,
Ive got to go to the High Court in the strand (London) to hand in BR forms. Just wondered if anyone else has been there? and what are they like?. Are they difficult to deal with? I cant wait to be debt free, but dread going through the process (doesnt everyone) .
Thanks for all the advice so far.

I didn't go there, but I know for sure that others on this forum have.
Hold tight, and I'm sure they will tell you how it went. It sounds grand, but apart from £7 extra to swear an oath, it sounds like the only difference is window dressing.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Third time lucky. I am going there tomorrow and their support section advised me not to be too intimidated by the surroundings. When do you plan to go?Went BR 25th May 2007 at 12.33, OR Interview now done. BSC No 880

Did my BR 7 months ago. Not at the 'High Court' though, so will have to leave advice about that to others.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Sweedart1 suggest you ring the PSU number on thread mentioned above, the courts are very confusing and if you are any way distressed it makes it easier.Went BR 25th May 2007 at 12.33, OR Interview now done. BSC No 880

Hi sweedart1 - I was declared bankrupt at the High Court - it's really not that daunting. It is a big place, and very easy to get lost. HOWEVER, after the Security Check, there is an information desk, where someone will escort you to the room/court that you need (They don't expect tips).
Once you are there, you will find the Court Officials to be most helpfull.
It's worth remembering that as well as being a very busy court, it is also a major 'tourist attraction' so much of the 'bustle' is caused by tourists. Once you are recognised as a 'customer' you will find that everyone will try to make your visit as easy as possible.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
