I simply cannot belive this company is allowed to operate in the way it does!
I used to have have access to the Credit Expert System as part of a third party packaged account and found it quite handy. Some months ago I closed that account and so at the same time finished my subscription to Credit Expert.
I called them today to see how much it would be to take the service up again, as it's pretty difficult to find any pricing information on their website.
To my horror they told me my only option was to pay £14.99 per month! They do have other levels of membership but these are only open to new customers who have not used their services before.
So in short I can only choose to pay £14.99 (which I never would in a million years) or just pay for a £2 report as and when.
How an earth do they get away with this? What a bunch of morons they really are (and take us the public for).
Rant over!

As I understand it, you can check your account "for Free" once a year with any of the credit rating companies, if you want to check it again in a 12 months period after you have closed your account they will charge you more- how else do they make their money?
If you want to check your rating again, why not use a different rating agency for "free" again? Some times you have to hold back to go forward to where you want to be.

It's not correct to say you can try them once a year for free. They would not allow that with me. Indeed it has been 7 years since I had an online Equifax account and they have turned me down a couple of times since.
You can get the £2 report as often as you like. Equifax have always been pretty decent but I have had problems with the Experian report due to how they request my address. The 'online' report also takes up to a week to access FYI.0 -

I'm sure these companies make most of their money from B2B services. I guess the consumer stuff just pays for the champers at the Xmas party!! :beer:0
