Dont forget your Free 3 Yr onsite Warranty offer at:

    http://www.brother.co.uk/g3.cfm/s_page/77630

    Use code EM0002 to claim.

Or you can have a handheld printer or a 256MB USB Flash drive instead.

Thank you for this. I have seen this posted before but thought that I had to buy it through the Brother web site. It wasn't until I clicked on your link that I realised that I qualify for a free gift but.... which one do you suggest?

I don't have a label maker or the stick thing ...are they of any use?

    TIA

    Dx

I bought one of these last night - very good quality prints - easy set up.
Front loading paper try was a bit fiddly but fine as is the USB cable tidy as mine kept giving close scanner error at first but fixed that.
    Well worth £45 IMO.
Cheap cartridges from InkEmporium at £6 a set!!!!

I got the brother dcp-120c combi printer some time ago, and it is a brilliant printer/scanner/photocopier. It performed faultlessly until I installed the 'Cheap Cartridges'.
I print rarely, so the printer can be left idle for long periods. Every now and then this printer will do an atuomatic warm up and print head clean, and this worked great with the original cartirdges. They never clogged or gave me any trouble at all.
However with the cheaper cartridges installed, it worked great at first, but when left idle for a while (week or so), it wouldn't print blacks. I had to initiate head cleaning a couple of times before before the blacks printed properly. A few days later I went to print again and had the same problem, except this time no amount of cleaning could unclog all of the black print head.
This might be a printer problem, but I'm more inclined to believe it's the ink at fault, possibly drying in the head and blocking it. The original black ink that came with the printer takes quite a while to dry when printed.
That's my story, take what you will from it.

I've had this problem with mine on occasions.
I never buy anything other than the correct cartridge for the colours, so its no surprise to find that just the black one dries occasionally.

For those who have one, is it really only 20cm (200mm) deep and a whole 45cm tall?

Or please post the actual dimensions so I know if it will fit on my desk!

    Width 373 x Depth 345 x Height 135 mm

Nice bit of kit, worth £45 but i would not have payed £80+ for it. Its discontinued now but as the ink can be had for £6 - £10 it should be cheap to run :D

I connected my Brother printer to Vista a while ago, no drivers needed.

Vista did it all for me and installed it automatically
