Freezer jam- can glass jars be frozen?

I want to make some freezer jam, because I'm not too good at getting jam to set. However, I gather glass can explode in a freezer if it has water-based contents .. ie jam ..

Has anyone made freezer jam and what do they store it in?

Hi, Yes I've done it. I've made both jam and fruit cheese. iirc you make the cheese from the strained juice rather than the fruit IYSWIM

I used glass ramekins and those GU jars so no lids. I just put then in a bag and put them in the freezer, no problems.

Oh that's an excellent idea - I've got quite a few of those glass ramekins, and I could then decant into the pretty jars when I want to use it.

I freeze in glass jars all the time.

You just have to make sure they are cooled before you put them in the freezer and make sure you leave space at the top because the contents expand

If you are going to decant into glass jars anyway, is there any reason why you can't freeze the jam in small individual 'tupperware' type containers?
