How can I find the bank or employer of someone I sued in Small Claims?
I have judgment against an ex-tenant who broke her tenancy agreement and now owes me a couple of thousand pounds.
However, she is refusing to pay, and the bailiffs have been unable to identify her at her home.
I can request an order for the monies to be taken from her bank account, or income, however I do not know her bank or employer.
Do you have any tips for obtaining this information?

Have you googled her name? She might turn up on Facebook or Linked In.
Have you tried contacting her via the references you got when she moved in? She might still be in the same job, or an old job might know where she is.0 -

I should clarify - she is not on Facebook or LinkedIn and uses pseudonyms.
She has moved jobs.
Wondering if there are any actual legal tools or services that can find this info? Thanks & good fortunes!0 -

If the woman does all these things, then I think it is highly likely you are not the first landlord to suffer at her hands, and that she will be well versed on how to make sure you cannot trace her.
Personally, for that amount of money I would have her watched if you know where she lives for a couple of days to see if it is possible to identify any property such as a car tucked away somewhere.
These type of people will not leave their car (if they have one) parked outside their house, and neither will they have a couple of thousand in their bank account. She's much more likely to have a car on HP that's months behind in payments and her cash under a mattress or up her knicker leg.
I'm sorry to say I think it will be virtually impossible to recover your money, but if you feel you must try, then good luck in your efforts.
I cannot think of any method whereby you can obtain her job/bank details other than following her, but a PI may have one or two suggestions."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
I had this happen to me twenty years ago when I was owed a similar amount by a fly-by-night tenant, in the days before large deposits. My solicitor advised me to give up as I was throwing good money after bad. You may have to reconcile yourself to losing the money. It sucks and it is bloody unfair. Can you at least withold the tenant's deposit?I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
