Hi everyone,
I have had an idea on how to stop myself spending money on things I do not need or that aren't worth it.
I was discussing this with my friends and we have come up with a plan and are calling it clubskint.
The theory behind it is that before we buy something that is non essential we will ask someone in clubskint and they will tell us if it is a good buy or unnessecary rubbish - and then for anything we don't buy after this - we put the money into a savings account.
The important things we have came up to discourage others from spending the money are:
Point out alternative uses of the money - ie: for the £30 you are about to spend on the handbag instead that would pay for 1/10th of your holiday in the sun this summer
Do you need it?
If its not necessary but you want it - will you use it?
Is it good value for money?
Now I'm hoping this thread will help me - when no-one else is available!
The next time I get the urge to spend money - I will post on this thread about it and hopefully if its a bad spend someone will point of the pitfalls to me!

At least waiting for replies on a thread will mean you don't spend the money immediately - by the time you've been told 'yes' or 'no' the urge to spend will have passed!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Thank you Honey Bear0 -
The "good value for money" question is the one I find hardest. It is so DIFFICULT to establish what we should pay for things.
Just yesterday I bought a hair product. Did a search and it is £6.99 but found it on offer at Superdrug for £5,29. Remembered that My Supermarket has a Hair & Beauty section comparison so did a search there and found Asda have it at £4 this week. (Last week Asda was £7 but had "3 for £10" offer whicxh I didn't purchase as I'd never used the stuff before and didn't want to buy 3 of them first time.)
It makes it so difficult to figure the true value of something.0
