Mortgage Audit Centre are part of the companies owned by that joker on the call centre trash programme.
He claimed he could get me about 7 - 12000 pounds back due to the fact that the company that arranged my mortgage has been identified as mis-selling mortgages by means of inflated interest rates which at the time were around 5-6 percent.

Yet there is no such thing happening in real life. Plus, your data other than your lender's name is not in the public domain.
He was very convincing and probably, if I had of had the £149, I would have taken him up on his offer.

Scams are typically convincing and advance fee fraud is particularly easy when the mark is enticed by made up compensation figures.
He also said that after the mortgage had been audited and they thought there was no chance of a claim, that the £149 would be refunded.

Yet millions of pounds have been lost by people to firms operating the same business model. Cartel, Kerobo etc.
After reading the letters in this forum, I am now wondering if it would be worthwhile following up his offer as I did tell him that if I could get the money together, I would phone him back to start the ball rolling.

    Bye bye £149.

Why do these firms never call me?

Is it because I'm on a black list because they know I'll tell them to sling their hook?

  • I received a request today from the Mortgage Audit Centre on behalf of one of my clients

they are requesting all the mortgage related documents that I hold on file

so I can only assume that as it will not cost them anything I will be receiving a compliant shortly

it wont cost them anything to make a complaint but it will take up several hours of my time

It looks like it i'm afraid. Another fraudulent complaint I suspect.

Remember to tell them that there is a £10 charge before releasing the docs. At least get £10 out of the scumbags. Also, nothing prevents you contacting the client involved. I know a mortgage adviser that got one of these and he contacted the client who was horrified to find out that a complaint would be lodged against the adviser. The client was told the lender would pay out. They stopped all proceedings before the complaint was lodged.

Maybe worth writing direct to your client and saying you are concerned they may be the victim of advance fee fraud.
