Award-winning author Christopher Robbins' new book, In Search of Kazakhstan, is out now. To celebrate the launch, Air Astana and Profile books are offering two pairs of tickets for a once in a lifetime trip to Kazakhstan.
In this rip-roaring book Chris Robbins gives us the real story on Kazakhstan, rather than Borat's extreme depiction! He criss-crosses the vast steppe and mountain chains; encounters nomads who hunt with golden eagles; hears the Kazakh John Lennon play in a dusty desert town; finds Eminem beside a shrinking Aral Sea; investigates the birthplace of the apple, the tulip and trousers; and sees some of the most beautiful, unspoilt and unpeopled places on earth.
The two winners of the prize draw will receive a pair of tickets to Almaty (Kazakhstan's cultural capital), including accommodation at a 5-star hotel for six nights, and day trips to visit the city and its surrounds.
