Ironing Board - Brabantia worth it?

Hi, my Minky ironing board broke spectacularly last night. Sadly don't have receipt and Minky don't want to know.

I am on the hunt for a new one, wondered if anyone had one of
these?

Thanks

Wow that is one expensive ironing board it would have to do the washing, dry, fold and iron it for me to spend that much...however my ironing board is a low use product and I have the one I bought for £7 in 1982 so probably not a valid opinion.

Gosh I'm probably on my 6th since 1986 and I thought I'd done well :rotfl:

I'm pretty sure yours isn't a Minky then as it wouldn't have lasted that long.;)

Meh, mine was even more expensive:

Good investment for me, though, as I don't have a space for a normal ironing board, yet it's massive once unfolded, so makes ironing much faster :)

I've had my Brabantia for more years than I care to count - totally recommend anything made by Brabantia.

By the way OP, have a look here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brabantia-Ironing-Board-Steam-Ivory/dp/B003I86O0Q/ref=sr_1_2?m=A2OAJ7377F756P&s=merchant&ie=UTF8&qid=1369333760&sr=1-2&keywords=brabantia+ironing+board

I have purchased several things from Amazon Warehouse (including a Brabatia rotary line, a George Foreman Grill) and have never found any of them looking remotely 'used'!

Have to agree Brabantia's customer service is fantastic, we've got one of their rotary lines, bread bin etc. Only ever had one faulty item and they were fabulous, replacement sent immediately.

Another "YES" to a Brabantia board; mine's older than I can remember and has had a new cover in the last few years BUT is still "straight" and solid.
Well worth the initial outlay - I was lucky if one lasted two years before this.

  • I, too, love all things Brabantia! My ironing board was a wedding present in 1973 and is still going strong. (Admittedly I don't do more ironing than absolutely necessary, but still ...)

I vote Brabantia, good sturdy boards, great height too. I used to iron for a living and we used Brabantia and they were a joy to use never had any issues.
