A broker won't have any influence or direction over the Sols ML checks.

If you are already in the mge process, I would stay the course.

If the Sol has only asked for 6 mts statements, you've provided them, he is happy with their content (raising no ML issues with you), and advised your next step is exchange of contracts, then this suggests to me you're home and dry (deposit wise) ..... :)

In any event, you say the 12k is definately from legitimate sources, so you'll have no real issues providing verification, should he subsequently request the offending statements.

    Hope this helps

You want to exchange/complete the same day
Ah, I thought I knew the username from somewhere. Didn't get around to checking where.

Yes, this certainly explains wanting to exchange and complete on the same day - as the OP is the one worried about getting caught out and sued.

    Nothing bad, just quite distinctive.
    Mainly your use of abbreviations.
For example, I don't think there's anyone else on here who would call me "J".

    :)

    :rotfl: .... yep .... thats probably true .... :)

Hope you're not offended with the J. or Jimbo ref x :D ?

Its not being worried about being sued...I expect all checks would have been carried out before my solictor is 100% sure and commits me to the purchase. It was just from bad experiance of a family member.

Thought the "J" was a little odd the first time, but thought nothing of it once I realised it's what you do.
    And "Jimbo" made me smile.

If your Solicitor has charged you £1,100 for their services, then suggest they knew it was not legitimate in any case..

Now this has got me even more worried !!!

Surely a solicitor on the lender's panel would also be looking out for their interest as well as my own?

I have to say, I do agree with Dave, the more worried you're obv becoming about the pch collapsing as a result of the source of this money (esp as you say a family member had their fingers burned on the same subject), the more concerning it is that all may not be what you would have us believe ..... with my apologies if I'm way off the mark.

If we knew more about the actual source of capital (and without being nosey), we may advise on how this would be viewed ML wise - should it reveal itself as part of your Sols verification checks.

    Hope this helps

I guess I should stop worrying, and let things take their own course. As I have said all along, the money/deposits is not dodgy. Its just that when you think about having to explain things to people who wield power like solicitors, police, hmrc etc you always feel nervous as to what they might think.

If I tell the truth - 'I always keep at least 10k in cash around the house. In fact, I also have family gold worth 30k in the house. Its always been like that in my family' - does that sound believable?
