hi I'm new on here and have joined after reading Martin's guide on Mental Health and debt.I'm a bit of a mess at the moment and have been for a while.Big debts including a very large one to Barclays Bank who now have a CCJ no way of paying them. suffering from mental health problems which have been on going for a few years now. Wife has had enough and asked me to leave family home. Would love to hear from anyone who has been through or is also going through a similar situation for mutal support. Thanks for reading the post any thoughts would be very welcome.

Hi harry,
Sorry to hear of your situation. I'm in a different situation to you so can't offer any words of wisdom (sorry) but there are lots of lovely people on this site who I'm sure can.
Always remember that your health and happiness are far more important than money.
I'm sorry to hear that things with your wife have deteriorated to such an extent.
Maybe try chatting to one of the debt charities, such as stepchange, to see if that's an option for you?

Thanks for taking the time to reply and your kind words it's so nice to read something pleasant for a change. It may sound silly but little things like this make a big difference0

Hey Harry,
Things sounds really tough right now. I hope you're getting the right sort of support both for your health issues and your debt issues. Don't be afraid to seek help for both! In terms of debt, it would be worth having a look at maybe Stepchange - they can at least set out your options.
Anyhow, I'm sure there will be others in similar situations, so keep checking in.

Harry, Welcome, welcome!
This place is great and I can't recommend it enough. Have a look around and you'll see that you aren't alone in the situation you find youself in and more often than not, the first move is the hardest, and you've done that now so good on you.
I'm sorry to hear that your having a tough time at the minute. The good news however is that there are a lot of people and places you can tap into FOR FREE that will be able to help.
Might I suggest you start by outlining your debts to the good people here so we can help advise? If we can't there are options to you professionally, as a previous poster mentioned, Stepchange is a good place to start.
From the mental health side of things, I'm not qualifed to give out advice here, but if you aren't already you should be seeking professional help- having a mental health problem isn't something to be a shamed of, so don't fight that battle alone. Some times you have to hold back to go forward to where you want to be.

I have great empathy for you; hopefully things will be better with your wife when you've had chance to think clearly, and a temporary separation can certainly allow you to focus on things more clearly. Did you ask your doctor for supporting evidence when dealing with debtors ? Sometimes that can help. I agree with the person who said money and debt isn't as important as your health. Take heart my friend, you are not alone and our thoughts and prayers are with you.0
