19 year old debt, chasing me but not mine.

Options
Good evening,

For the past 5 or 6 years I have been getting debt letters for a debt that dates back to 1994 at an old address I used to live at. The debt is for a store card for a shop that I have never used. The details the company has on record are mine, or so they say. I have explained to them that this is not my debt and have complied with their requests for my prove of ID, I have requested that they prove to me that it is my debt by sending me the sign credit agreement. I have made this request to them several times in writing, over the phone and by fax, each time in writing or by fax they have claimed they have not had any such request from me. I have now had a letter from a bailiffs company threatening to visit my home to collect the money or goods to the value of.. I called them tonight and explained the situation to them, and even told them to please take me to court so I can prove that this is not my debt and that I can see the credit agreement. And again I have been asked to prove that it is not my debt and to send copies of my ID to them. I have told them that I am not doing this again and that I have a right to see the signed credit agreement and also questioned the legality of chasing a debt that is so old.

What I am looking for on here is advice, as the collection agency has listed me with credit reference agencies.

Any advice is very welcome.

Thanks
