Hi i have been hearing stories about claiming tax back for things like washing your clothes and keeping clean. sounds silly to me. is it true or a load of rubbish?

If you are in a job that requires a uniform and you have to wash that uniform at home you can get an allowance. My son works for Sainsbury's and has an allowance of around £42p.a. which is added to his tax code.0

Oddly enough, I have just recieved a rebate for laundry expenses...I work in a supermarket , which requires I wear a loggo shirt/blouse.
The rate I recieved is £45 per annum.
This went back to my 2003/04 calculation, up to 2005/06
Our area manager was unaware of this rebate, and said he was going to inform all his stores?0
