thetoyshop.com sale!

There seems to be a huge range of top brand toys (VTech, Sylvanian families, nerf etc). The title of the page says '25% sale" but I did spot a Sylvanian familylodge with 50% so i guess you just need to hunt around! Some only have £5 or £10 pounds but others get the 25% - 50% off treatment! Free delivery if you spend £40, standard deliver £2.99 or free pick up from store

I used to love Sylvanian Family toys so much - kind of tempted to buy then (I have no children, nor do I ever spen time with kids!)

It's crumblier.....i.e. when time to tidy up...it's everywhere.

It feels dry to the touch & playdoh is squidgy. Seems to go down just as well though.

    Great for gifts :D

Yeah Moon Dough is crumbly and slightly oily, it takes quite a bit of pressure to get it to stick to itself. We bought our 2 year old some for christmas and it ends up absolutely everywhere in tiny bits. Kids, though, eh?
    Out on blue six..

Just a word of warning - I work in a school and we bought some of this the other week and it made a huge mess. It crumbled and was dreadful. Much more MSE to make your own play dough which is super easy and lasts at least a week!

Thanks for the heads up! Well as it wasn't too expensive i'm not too bothered this time! I would definitely like to see your recipe for easy playdough though :)

    2 cups flour
    2 cups warm water
    1 cup salt
    2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 Tablespoon cream of tartar (optional for improved elasticity)

food colouring (liquid, powder, or unsweetened drink mix)

Mix all of the ingredients together, and stir over low heat. The dough will begin to thicken until it resembles mashed potatoes.

When the dough pulls away from the sides and clumps in the centre remove the pan from heat and allow the dough to cool enough to handle.

IMPORTANT NOTE: if your playdough is still sticky, you simply need to cook it longer!
Keep stirring and cooking until the dough is dry and feels like playdough.

I've used the above method loads of times - only takes a couple of minutes to cook. It's really easy. I haven't ever made it without the cream of tartar though so I don't know how it turns out without that in it.

(My DH makes it for me each week for my reception class!)
