Where to start to up my income?

Options
I am in a bit of debt. I have worked out it will take me 3 years currently to get out of debt so I want to sell a few things and see if there is a way to make some money in my spare time.

I have a PS3, controller, games that I am willing to sell as I next to never use it. Where would I get the best price for this?

I also have loads of CDs and DVDs I could easily get rid of too. Again where would be best to sell this?

Also where do I start in being able to up my income? I can't take on a 2nd job as my current job won't allow me to as the hours and shifts can be unpredictable.

Any help would be great! :)

Take a look through th threads on here.

Surveys and the "paid to" sites such as swagbucks will provide a small regular income and are something you can do around irregular hours.

Also, the likes of TextBroker if your spelling and grammar meet their standards (they tend to be picky).

Do you have any skills that you could use on the freelance sites?

  • Have you ever used eBay before?

I think that is probably the best place to sell your PS3 and other stuff.

If you're happy with getting any price for them then you can list them for 99p and hope the eBay gods are on your side, and people bid more. If you have a price in mind you want to sell them for, you can wait for a free-listing weekend and name your price, but be prepared to not sell things.

If you have any questions about eBay i'm happy to give you some advice

eBay is probably your best bet, but make sure to check other avenues to see what standard price is for what you're selling. For example, eBay may be selling PS3s at an average of $50, but, say, Kijiji may be selling PS3s at an average of $60. Check how much is selling and pick the website that allows you to make the most money.

In regards to getting a second stream of income, this depends heavily on what your skills are. Are you good at writing? Do you know pottery or some other hands on skill that isn't really 'mainstream'? Do you have the time to do surveys and sites like Swagbucks?
