Welcome Finance GRRR!

Hi Guys

Little problem i discovered yesterday and its playing on my mind......

A few years ago i had a loan from Welcome Finance, i finished paying for this last October...the min payment was £98 per month but i was paying £125 a month to pay it off a little quicker. Anyhoo...i finally got to the end of the term and paid it off...all was fine and dandy untill yesterday i looked on my credit report and they have me down as defaulting on my account for the grand sum of...wait for it.....£4  now who in thier right mind would default for £4? I have not had 1 single letter or phone call to say i owe this money.
Surely they cant do this?

I did call them yesterday and i was told they had written the £4 off, i argued that it was'nt fair on my behalf as i did'nt know i owed this, they said to print off the report and write to them.

So my question to you is this....do i just write to them and ask them to correct it or is there nothing they can do? Im sorry but i really have no clue about this kinda thing :o

Thanks ever so much x

I think they can agree to remove the default at their discretion.

The creditor can remove the default, but make sure they remove it and dont just class it as 'satisfied', as it stays on your report if they do that.

You can also contact the CRA, explain the situation & they will liase with WF to see if this can be sorted. Experian helped me quickly & efficiently with a similar sort of problem.
