Tesco £5 off £50 or Sainsburys £7.50 off £50 coupon?

This week I have a choice of coupons for my weekly shop - a £5 off £50 coupon for Tesco or a £7.50 off £50 coupon for Sainsbury's. I've been using Sainsbury's in recent weeks, I prefer the quality, though a recent top up shop at Tesco showed Tesco had much the better prices on many of the items I buy weekly. I'm wondering if the £5 coupon for Tesco and the added savings on cheaper overall shopping there, would still show a total saving making more than the £7.50 I would save at Sainsbury's. Interested in which, other people would use?

    Hi,

Since last month I have £8 off £40 spend at sainsbury's per week.
I have realy struggled to get up to £40 as the things I buy from the supermarkets work out cheaper in Asda then Tesco (I also had £5 off £50 per week vouchers). However my supermarket shopping never comes upto this unless I am buying baby things.

In the end I used www.mysupermarket.com to compare prices, offers and then print off a shopping list. I ended up buying alot of store cupboard things and baby milk which was on offer at same price at Asda and Sainsbury but at sainsbury I had use of voucher.

This week will be easy, I plan on taking bus down to the bigger sainsbury's, getting some school shoes and bits from the tu clothing section for the 25% off, with some grocery items that I do need I will still make a saving even with cost of bus travel.

Just put in things you want / need on mysupermarket and see how much the difference is between them plus travel cost and you will have answer of where to shop.
    :)
