Or buy a cheap broken one from ebay & take it to apple who give me a new one for £75, although this didnt come with any extended warranty, only that remaining on my old one, tend to be going for £30-£40 depending on the damage, but doesnt matter if youre going to get rid of

Did you just take it into the shop & ask for a part-exchange? Is it just like for like on model? I've got a slightly damaged 2nd Gen that I'd like to use in part-ex for a 4th Gen.
